Fatoumata (Fatou) is a results-driven top nonprofit professional.  She has served as a consultant with several international non-governmental organizations including UNICEF and Save The Children.  Her media work has featured on the UN Peace Women; NGO News Africa; the International Press Institute; among many others.  She is also a former Research Support and Monitoring Officer of the UN Office for Project Services.  Fatou has 10 years of professional experience in research, nonprofit management, customer relations, print and digital media with a strong visual sense, excellent writing and editing skills, backed by exceptional people skills.  She has excellent management, supervisory and communication skills and disciplined work ethics.   Fatou is a trailblazer.

As a child, Fatou was denied access to education because of her gender.  Girls in her family were labelled as domestic attendants, while the boys were the preferred gender for academic enlightenment. With the help of her mother, who unrelentingly advocated evolution in such gender perceptions,  Fatou first stepped foot into a classroom at age nine.  She went on to defy all odds and is now an award-winning digital and print media professional working on political, developmental, peace and conflict issues.  Fatou was honored with the Presidential Award for Academic Excellence.  She believes when children are given the opportunity and tools that they need to climb the education ladder, there is no limit to how high they can fly and what trails they can blaze.

Board Treasurer

Demesha L. Cisco, AS in Early Childhood Education/

Caring for Kids God's Way, Certificate, Light University

[email protected]

Demesha has an unwavering commitment to transforming the lives of children.  She is very passionate about kids and education.  Along with her husband, an Army Veteran, she founded Cisco’s Kids, a childcare and preschool that specialized in taking care of community and Soldier’s kids, especially during deployments.  Demesha developed and managed early childhood educational programs and services which cultivated mastery of learning. Significantly, Cisco's Kids was one of the first 4-Star childcare centers in Fayetteville, North Carolina.

As the Nursery Director at her church, Covenant Love, she meticulously managed the budget by ordering all supplies and ensuring each classroom had age appropriate supplies and equipment.  Demesha leverages her early childhood education expertise and strong financial management skills to identify children in need and allocate resources to meet their needs.  She inspires others to get involved to help change the lives and rewrite the stories of children for their betterment.

She skillfully uses her education and training to give a voice to children who may otherwise be overlooked if nonprofits did not value a public-service mission.  Demesha truly loves children, and she uses her time and talents to ensure they receive resources for their growth and development and academic success.  Every decision that she makes centers on how to best meet student needs; this is priority #1.  Demesha lights up schools and fuels A+ Academic Resources for accomplishing its mission and making strides towards its vision---educational resources for K - 12 students worldwide.
